Anaheim Hills Fire Burns 25 Acres

anaheim-fireWith winds gusting at 50 mph and low humidity, the Anaheim Hills fire continues to rage along the 241 toll road in Anaheim Hills. The L.A. county fire department is using helicopters and fire engines to contain and put the Anaheim Hills fire out.

The fire currently lies on the eastern side of the tollway where the fire department hopes to keep it contained as the western side of the tollway is filled with housing developments. The Anaheim Hills Fire has burned at least 25 acres so far.

Although the nearest residents are miles away, officials have warned them to have an escape route ready. Lack of water may also be an issue for the fire fighters as they truck in water from neighboring cities.

Birmingham Mayoral Candidate Jimmy Snow Arrested

Jimmy Snow, Birmingham, Alabama, Mayoral candidate was arrested while “campaigning” at a local bar. Police took the businessman into custody for disorderly conduct Saturday night.

Although Jimmy Snow arrested, he says he did not do anything wrong Saturday and someone is trying to undermine his campaign, presumably another political candidate.

Jimmy Snow says he was drinking Saturday but was not drunk.

Justin Bieber Almost Arrested and Injured!

justin-bieber-arrestedJustin Bieber was almost arrested outside Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, NY when he tried to enter a planned autograph signing. Thousands of fans got a little out of hand and local cops threatened to arrest Justin’s mom and Justin if they tried to enter the mall and caused even more anarchy.

Fights broke out among fans and one woman broke her arm which caused Justin Bieber almost arrested. One person in his entourage was actually arrested. Justin Bieber was tweeting the entire time, letting fans know to go home because the even was cancelled.

Some fans waited in line for close to 20 hours to see Justin Bieber. What they got, wasn’t what they expected so we hope Justin makes it up to his fans.

Kirsten Wolcott, Southern Adventist Student, Murdered

kirsten-wolcottKirsten Wolcott, a junior at Southern Adventist University, has been murdered in Yap, Micronesia. Kirsten Wolcott was teaching second grade at Yap Adventist School, went for a run Wednesday morning before classes started and never came back.

A liberal arts education major, Kirsten Wolcott loved working out and music. Wolcott was on the Dean’s list and played the piano and harp.

Kirsten Wolcott was originally from Richmond, Virginia and was spending time in Micronesia as a student missionary at the Yap SDA school that is mainly run by Southern Adventist students. The visiting missionaries typically live in apartments on campus and there are about ten students serving this year.

Thomas Lee Pennycuff Arrested for Solicitation of a Minor

cyber-crimeThomas Lee Pennycuff has been arrested for solicitation of a minor in Arkansas City, Kansas. Pennycuff attempted to lure a 13 year old girl in to meeting with him but the “girl” turned out to be an undercover detective. However the 25 year old, Thomas Lee Pennycuff, additionally solicited 13 other underage girls online and actually met with several.

Police have said Thomas Lee Pennycuff is facing at least 13 counts of solicitation of a child and possibly one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. Through their investigation on Thomas Lee Pennycuff’s computer, they also said Pennycuff may have contacted as many as 80 girls on MySpace.

Saginaw Valley Softball Coach Arrested For Drunk Driving

saginaw-valley-softball-coachSaginaw Valley State University’s head softball coach, Everett C. Roper, was arrested for drunk driving at 3:30 am Monday morning.

The university is aware of the arrest but have yet to comment on the situation. Although the Saginaw Valley softball coach was arrested for drunk driving, he has taken the SVSU softball team to new heights of success since being hired in 2007. The team missed going to the Division 2 World Series by one game last year.

Gail Smith Murder in Berryville Virginia

gail-smith-berryvilleThe Gail Smith murder in Berryville, Virginia has the town in shock and four people have been arrested. Gail Smith was found with a gunshot wound to the head  in her own home July 30, 2009.

Police arrested three men last week and another man this week in relation to the Gail Smith murder Berryville. Investigators say Gail Smith’s brother, Timothy Smith Jr, Edward Visosky III and Edward Poley and have been arrested in connection to the Berryville murder.

William Lee Copeland was arrested this week on a firearm charge that was discovered through the ongoing Gail Smith murder case.
