Saginaw Valley State University’s head softball coach, Everett C. Roper, was arrested for drunk driving at 3:30 am Monday morning.
The university is aware of the arrest but have yet to comment on the situation. Although the Saginaw Valley softball coach was arrested for drunk driving, he has taken the SVSU softball team to new heights of success since being hired in 2007. The team missed going to the Division 2 World Series by one game last year.
The Gail Smith murder in Berryville, Virginia has the town in shock and four people have been arrested. Gail Smith was found with a gunshot wound to the head in her own home July 30, 2009.
Police arrested three men last week and another man this week in relation to the Gail Smith murder Berryville. Investigators say Gail Smith’s brother, Timothy Smith Jr, Edward Visosky III and Edward Poley and have been arrested in connection to the Berryville murder.
William Lee Copeland was arrested this week on a firearm charge that was discovered through the ongoing Gail Smith murder case.

A 45 year old Swede has been found dead in Cambodia. The man has owned a coastal hotel in Cambodia for several years and is well known in the community.
The Swede found dead in Cambodia was reported missing on Thursday November 12, 2009 from his hotel and his body was found Friday near Phnom Penh. It has been reported the safety deposit box in his hotel room was broken into.
A strange kidnapping in Perry County resulted in the arrest of five people by Newport police.
According to police, Derek Williams (21), Keith Hammaker (32), MaryGreenawalt (38), Adam Louden (23) and William Leach (22) accused an 18 year-old of stealing from their home after staying with them. The group threatened to kill the victim, stripped him, bound and gagged him with duct tape, then beat him with brass knuckles and a machete. The group dumped the unconscious 18 year old on the side of the road. When he came to, he received help from people in a nearby home.
State troopers and U.S. Marshals raided Hammaker and Greenwalt’s home in relation to the kidnapping in Perry county. Police found weapons used int he attack and confiscated drugs.
The group faces a number of charges including, unlawful restraint, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and kidnapping.

Twenty-one year old, unemployed, Leon Fyle has been arrested in the murder of Destiny Lauren. Leon Fyle, from south-east London, will appear in court on Monday.
Police found Destiny Lauren strangled in her apartment shortly after midnight on November 5. She was later pronounced dead at the Royal Free Hospital.
Nukese Richardson, one of three Tennessee football players arrested for attempted robbery, was released from a Knox County detention facility on Thursday.
Janzen Jackson and Mike Edwards, accomplices, were released earlier in the week.
Nukese Richardson and the other players were accused of attempting to rob three victims at a convenience store while Jackson insists he was in the store while the robbing occurred.
There has been no word on the players’ status as members of the Vols’ team.
Destiny Lauren, a transgendered sex worker, was found dead in her north-west London home. The 29 year old was found at 12:55 AM Thursday morning and pronounced dead at 1:35 AM.
An autopsy has been conducted but a cause of death has yet to be announced. Police arrested a 35 year old man but bail has been posted pending further inquiries.
Police have not yet determined a motive in Destiny Lauren’s murder.
